As Anthony Joshua once again moves into dangerous territory, we look at 10 of his best heavyweight wins so far
  1. WLADIMIR KLITSCHKO
Not only did Joshua hold it all together in front of a huge Wembley Stadium crowd, but he recovered from a heavy knockdown in round five to stop Klitschko in the 11th, making April 29, 2017 a night to remember in heavyweight history.
  2. ANDY RUIZ JNR
Six months after being taken apart by Ruiz in Madison Square Garden, Joshua outboxed the overweight and sluggish Mexican-American for 12 rounds in Saudi Arabia. It delivered Joshua both revenge and all he had lost.
  3. DILLIAN WHYTE
Long before Whyte became a top contender, he was Joshua’s main domestic rival and an opponent emphatically destroyed by Joshua inside seven rounds in December 2015.
  4. ALEXANDER POVETKIN
Though past his best, controversial Russian Povetkin provided Joshua with a good battle for a few rounds in September 2018 before being cut down to size in the seventh.
  5. JOSEPH PARKER
In one of the duller Joshua title fights, Parker attempted to outbox Joshua on the back foot but refused to offer enough in terms of attacking intent to prevent the Brit taking a unanimous decision at the bout’s conclusion.
  6. KUBRAT PULEV
Joshua’s last fight, in December 2020, saw Bulgarian Pulev quickly become a sitting duck for right crosses and uppercuts before finding himself flat on his back in round nine.
  7. CARLOS TAKAM
Takam, a late replacement for Pulev, gave a good account of himself in this October 2019 fight but was still unable to hear the final bell and was stopped, somewhat contentiously, in the 10th round.
  8. CHARLES MARTIN
Martin was the southpaw in the opposite corner when Joshua graduated to belt-holder in April 2016 and sadly offered very little in the way of resistance before being stopped in the second round.
  9. DOMINIC BREAZEALE
After beating Martin, Joshua fought Breazeale and had no problem breaking him down with body shots and then stopping him in the seventh round.
  10. ÉRIC MOLINA
A school teacher, Éric Molina, had seemingly done no homework whatsoever and was sent packing in the third round of this 2016 mismatch.
