At 43-years-old, most saw Browne as a stay-busy opponent for Fa, who had previously been competitive in a decision loss to former WBO champion Joseph Parker.
Fa was unexpectedly dropped hard by an overhand right that landed to the side of the head. He was seriously hurt and many expected to the fight to be waved off, but the referee allowed the bout to continue. Fa was then decked for a second time when another big shot unintentionally landed to the back of Fa’s head. The shot landed as Fa’s turned his head to avoid the incoming shot. After going down hard again, the fight was waved off.
The was featured on the undercard to the lightweight unification between Devin Haney and George Kambosos.
