‘I’m not hard to find’: Caleb Plant calls out Jermall Charlo again

Caleb Plant’s beef with Jermall Charlo continues on, but the former titleholder has made what may be a final call-out, saying Charlo should quit bringing him up if he doesn’t want to fight.

“No sense in talking about what you ‘plan’ on doing if you don’t ‘plan’ on fighting me,” Plant said on X. “Don’t even stutter my name anymore unless you want to make it official. I’m not hard to find.”

Plant and Charlo had an altercation in July backstage at the Spence vs Crawford weigh-in, with video capturing Plant smacking Charlo in the face.

Both sides have their own version of the story, of course.

In September, Plant (22-2, 13 KO) said that Charlo (33-0, 22 KO) is who he wants to fight.

“We need to make it happen,” he said. “Obviously, we had a disagreement recently that had to get figured out, but that would be a big fight for the fans. I know a lot of people would want to see it, and that’s what I want next. … You check my resume, people know I’m not ducking any big fights. We can make that happen next. But I don’t think he wants to do that.”

Plant, 31, last fought in March, losing a 12-round decision to David Benavidez. Charlo, 33, broke a nearly two-and-a-half year absence from the ring in November, beating Jose Benavidez Jr over 10 rounds.

Charlo still holds the WBC middleweight title, though he did not defend it in November, and many wonder if he can even make the weight anymore. Plant is a former 168 lb titleholder, and still fights in that division, which may be where Jermall has to land from here on out.

Charlo said after his win over Benavidez that he hopes to be far more active in 2024.
