Devin Haney shoves Ryan Garcia: ‘Your son’s going to get killed,’ says Haney’s father

Fighting

Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia went face-to-face in the typical “our fight’s in New York” photo opportunity press event today, and it wound up with Haney shoving Garcia in the face after some trash talk between the two fighters.

Haney and Garcia will fight Saturday night on DAZN PPV from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

The two 25-year-old fighters have had one of the stranger builds to a PPV main event, though they’re also making sure to hit all the standards like “shoving,” which you can possibly expect again at Thursday’s press conference and/or Friday’s weigh-in, unless the promoters believe that the better move would be to do that thing where you make a big show out of how they MUST BE KEPT SEPARATE, which is awful because it makes for worse photos for web sites to put into their articles.

Anyway, here’s the shove.

Following the shove, Devin Haney’s father/trainer Bill Haney is seen shouting, “Your son’s gonna get killed! He’s gonna get killed!” claiming that will be the result of Garcia’s “disrespect.”

Really a class presentation, but maybe we should just respect that nobody’s much pretending this is some noble warrior sporting event. Perhaps honesty is the best policy.
