‘I hope is the last step before the world title’: Mbilli looks forward to weekend fight with Derevyanchenko

During the final press conference for this weekend’s Top Rank card, headlined by Christian Mbilli vs Sergiy Derevyanchenko, both fighters appeared to discuss their thoughts on the impending battle along with all the other fighters who will appear. Mbilli on this opportunity to headline on Top Rank on ESPN

“This opportunity, for me, I hope is the last step before the world title and I think we’re going to make a great fight, maybe the Fight of the Year. And I’m very happy to be here, I’m very happy to be in Quebec City. This is a very good city and we have a good, big fan of boxing there and will be a great, great, great fight.”

Mbilli on Derevyanchenko expected to bring the fight to him

“I like to show I’m the best, I like to show that I’m the real monster. We’re going to see who has the best conditioning, has the best boxing, and for me no surprise I’m the best.”

Derevyankchenko on his expectations for the fight

“Yeah, I’m ready. I’m ready for aggressive (style) and I saw him fight, he strong, he aggressive, but I’m ready.”

Mbilli on whether this fight goes the distance

“I don’t know but if he give me any opportunity to knock him out, I’m going to knock him out.”
