Malik Scott refuses to rule out a Joshua-Wilder fight

Latest

DEONTAY WILDER’S trainer Malik Scott remained coy on ‘The Bronze Bomber’ coming back to fight and whether or not a bout against Anthony Joshua can still happen.

Scott, who fought Wilder as a pro losing by first round knockout in 2014, is now in the corner of the Alabama heavyweight but was at Wembley Stadium last night to watch Daniel Dubois knock out Anthony Joshua.

Joshua vs. Wilder is past its expiry date – with years of negotiations and speculation – but as Riyadh Season continue to stage big cards and offer big paydays it can’t be completely ruled out. This, despite Wilder losing back to back fights against Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang and Joshua’s future up in the air after his crushing loss to Dubois.

“Fighting is in Deontay’s heart, it’s something that he wants to do,” Scott told Boxing News.

“We in 2024 now let’s see what 2025 look like, first quarter, and we’ll go from there.”

Asked whether or not Joshua vs. Wilder could still happen, he replied:

“Yes, there’s no telling. You just never know.”
