Janibek vs Mikhailovich: Live updates and results, 5 am ET

Fighting

Janibek Alimkhanuly will return to the ring today in Australia, defending his IBF and WBO middleweight titles against Andrei Mikhailovich in Pyrmont, New South Wales.

The live stream will start at 5:00 am ET on ESPN+, and we’ll be here with updates and commentary down in the comments of this post.

Janibek (15-0, 10 KO) was meant to face Mikhailovich (21-0, 13 KO) in July, but had to pull out late due to issues making weight. He made the weight fine on Thursday, for all you can tell on the scales, and the fight is back on.

There’s not much of major interest on the undercard, if we even see any or much undercard, with a couple of local-level fights and then Mea Motu (19-0, 7 KO) taking on veteran Shannon O’Connell (24-7-1, 12 KO) in an eight-round featherweight fight, a fight meant to keep Motu active after her 122 lb title shot against Ellie Scotney, planned for Oct. 26, was recently scrapped.
