‘He’s really dangerous’: Bivol aware of threat Beterbiev poses, still expects to shine

Fighting

Dmitry Bivol gets a shot at becoming undisputed light heavyweight world champion tomorrow when he takes on Artur Beterbiev in a highly anticipated showdown. Bivol is known for his brilliant boxing style, which has lead him to an undefeated record, while Beterbiev is known for his 100% knockout ratio, also undefeated. Tomorrow in Saudi Arabia, something has to give.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Bivol acknowledges that he’s known of Beterbiev since their amateur days even if they never really had a personal relationship. Bivol isn’t intent in getting caught up in the hype surrounding his opponent, but is aware of what he’ll be facing.

“Always when I’m going to the ring I’m trying to think that this is the most dangerous opponent in my career, and he is really like this. He’s really dangerous and it makes me more excited to be honest. Your level, your enemies, the level of your challenges, shows your level also…October 12, it will be my show.”

For Bivol, it’s not so much about the opponent he’s facing, but simply the chance to prove he’s in fact the best in the world. That opportunity will present itself in Riyadh where one fight will mostly likely earn a distinction that will be a staple of their boxing legacy.
