Frank Warren says he threatened to push rival promoter off stage

FRANK WARREN didn’t mince his words when he explained what happened during his minor altercation on Friday with Ben Shalom.

The two promoters were in Riyadh for the Beterbiev-Bivol build-up where Warren and Shalom had fighters boxing on the undercard.

During the weigh-in, however, things became heated when Warren pushed Shalom just as the Boxxer boss moved in front of his promotional rival to stand between Chris Eubank Jr and Kamil Szeremeta for the face-off.

“I had words with him [Shalom] over his stupid behaviour,” Warren told Boxing News.

“It’s just nonsense. It’s stupid behaviour and disrespectful. I told him afterwards, I said if you do it again I’ll throw you off the stage.”

Last night’s action saw Warren get one over Shalom when his heavyweight Fabio Wardley knocked out Frazer Clarke in one round to retain his British and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.
