Most Valuable Promotions announced that in addition t the previously revealed rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, their November 15th Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson show will feature familiar faces Shadasia Green, Lucas Bahdi, and Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington.
Green (14-1, 11 KO) looks to continue rebuilding after last December’s disappointing loss to Franchon Crews-Dezurn, battling undefeated Candian Melina Watpool (7-0, 2 KO). Watpool isn’t a true super middleweight, but the women’s 160- and 168-pound divisions are effectively dead without Claressa Shields, Savannah Marshall, or Crews-Dezurn around. BoxRec has her no. 1 at middleweight, and considering the woman behind Green at 168 is 2-0, there’s an argument to be made that she’s the best available opponent.
Bahdi (17-0, 15 KO) returns to action for the third time in five months following July’s Knockout of the Year candidate over hot prospect Ashton Sylve. He takes on another undefeated youngster in Corey Marksman (10-0-1, 7 KO), best known for his two-fight series with Tony Aguilar on previous MVP shows this year.
Featherweight contender Carrington (13-0, 8 KO) makes a quick turnaround after last month’s tough out against Sulaiman Segawa in an eight-rounder opposite Australia’s Dana Coolwell (13-2, 8 KO). Coolwell boasts some decent domestic victories and both of his defeats came by split decision, so he doesn’t figure to roll over for Carrington.
Honestly, not a bad lineup at all outside of the ethically and morally questionable main event.
