Devin Haney picking Prograis to upset Catterall

Fighting

Devin Haney is rolling with an old rival to score an upset on Saturday.

“I’m picking Regis (Prograis) this weekend,” Haney said on social media, regarding Prograis’ fight this weekend with Jack Catterall.

Haney dominated Prograis last December in a successful 140 lb title defense. For what it’s worth, Haney’s father and trainer Bill Haney does not agree with his son, stating that he’s picking Catterall.

Catterall (29-1, 13 KO) is listed as a -460 favorite at FanDuel, with Prograis (29-2, 24 KO) the underdog at +340.

More concerning than simply the outcome of Prograis’ most recent fight is that he’s not really looked like himself in a while now, dating back at least to 2022, and that win over Jose Zepeda might be a bit over-credited, too, given the fact that Zepeda has fallen off notably himself.

Catterall last fought on May 25, finally getting his long-awaited rematch with Josh Taylor and scoring the win most felt was robbed from him in their first encounter back in 2022.

Check back tomorrow morning for Bad Left Hook’s own staff predictions and see if anyone is riding with Haney’s Prograis pick!
