Alalshikh announces four-fight deal between Canelo and Riyadh Season

Fighting

The last week or so has been a bit of a roller coaster ride with respects to Canelo Alvarez’s upcoming plans. First it was announced that Canelo had reached terms for a fight against Terence Crawford. Soon after it was reported by Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring magazine that a Canelo vs Crawford fight had been nixed upon word that Canelo was nearing a deal to fight Jake Paul.

Now, almost immediately after those reports, things have come full circle as Alalshikh has formally announced that his Riyadh Season has penned a four-fight deal with Canelo Alvarez. Canelo himself seems to have confirmed the deal by reposting Alalshikh’s announcement with the caption ‘Let’s go brother.’

It’s being reported that this four-fight deal is to start with a Canelo fight in May that will take place in Riyadh, with the Terence Crawford fight to take place in Las Vegas this September, and two more fights to take place in Riyadh in February and October of 2026.

This news obviously torpedoes any plans for Canelo to fight against Jake Paul, which may have garnered much attention despite it being completely insignificant in terms of actual professional boxing.
