ESPN+ picks up Mar. 13 title tripleheader from Tokyo

Fighting

American viewers willing to stomach an extremely early weekday morning are in for a treat, as Top Rank announced today that ESPN+ will broadcast the March 13th Japanese title tripleheader headlined by Kenshiro Teraji’s flyweight unification bout against Seigo Yuri Akui.

Things kick off that Thursday at 4:00 a.m. Eastern.

In addition to the main event, which is one of the best fights on the schedule in terms of stakes, skills, and action potential, the show will also see Anthony Olascuaga (8-1, 6 KO) defend his WBO flyweight belt against former minimumweight and light flyweight champion Hiroto Kyoguchi (19-2, 12 KO) and WBO light flyweight titlist Shokichi Iwata (14-1, 11 KO) make his inaugural defense against Rene Santiago (13-4, 9 KO).

It’s an extremely stacked lineup, more than worth the missed sleep; all three bouts have the potential to dazzle. Glad to see Top Rank maintain its commitment to giving Japanese boxing the spotlight.
