‘A whole lot of hurt and pain’: Fury plans on doing damage to Usyk in rematch

Ahead of Saturday’s heavyweight title rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, both fighters appeared for their final press conference today, but neither was a man of many words.

For Usyk, when asked about how he’s feeling and his expectations heading into the big fight, he said:

“Now we just have the performance. Talks, cameras, lights, kind of show. Everything is going to be taking place Saturday night on the 21st.”

Usyk was also asked about what final message he has for Fury before they meet inside the ring.

“Don’t be afraid,” Usyk said. “I will not leave you alone. See you on Saturday.”

Tyson Fury was also unusually short with his words over the last couple of says, and when asked about his plans for the rematch with Usyk, he said:

“I’m going to dish out a whole lot of pain.”

Fury would also be asked about the ominous predictions he’s been making towards Usyk, but he pretty much kept the same demeanor.

“I’ve got nothing to say apart from there’s going to be a whole lot of hurt and pain in this fight, you watch,” Fury said. “The talking’s been done. The first fight, I talked, I joked, all my career. This time I’m serious, I’m going to do some damage here on Saturday night. Watch me go to work.”

Both fighters will have their chance to let their fists do the talking for them once the opening bell rings this weekend.
