Artur Beterbiev Stops Anthony Yarde in Eighth of Fire-Fight

London, UK – For the WBC, WBO and IBF world light heavyweight titles, Artur Beterbiev (19-0, 19 KOs) had all he could handle at times in stopped Anthony Yarde (23-3, 22 KOs) in the eight round.

Beterbiev was pressing forward as Yarde was fighting on the backfoot and looking for counters. Yarde was landing solid counters that Beterbiev felt. IN the second, Yarde continued to counter and his speed was giving Beterbiev problems. At one point there were trading heavy punches. 

They started fast in the third, with punches landing by both. Beterbiev closed stronger in a tight round. IN the fourth, a right hand shook Yarde. Beterbiev was pressing forward and letting his hands go on Yarde, who managed to weather the storm. Yarde stunned Beterbiev for a moment, but then clipped him right back with series of punches.

During the fifth, a few punches by Yarde pushed Beterbiev back. In the final minute, Yarde rocked Beterbiev and was unloading with punches, with Beterbiev rallying in the closing moments of the round. The sixth started with the right eye of Yarde bleeding. And then the left eye of Beterbiev was bleeding from the eyelid as Yarde was boxing well

In the seventh, Yarde came out hitting to the body as Beterbiev was countering to the head. It was all-action with Yarde landing most of the shots until Beterbiev began to unload. The eight saw Beterbiev land a big right hand and then dropped Yarde. The right restarted, but Yarde’s corner threw in the towel.
