Boxing streaming and TV schedule for Dec. 29-31

Fighting

Sunday, Dec. 29

TrillerTV+, 12:00 pm ET, Battle of the Ages 10.0: Xplosion. A seven fight card from Lagos, Nigeria. Promoted main event is an eight-rounder between Ridwan Oyekola and Tosin Osaigbovo. One ten round fight on the show, between two guys with three pro outings each. The names won’t lure you in, unless you’re deeply familiar with Nigeria’s domestic boxing scene, but it’s your last boxing show of the year on a known and established US outlet.

Tuesday, Dec. 31

PPV, 1:00 am ET, Fernando Martinez vs Kazuto Ioka 2. A rematch of their July meeting, where Martinez unified his IBF super flyweight belt with Ioka’s WBA by unanimous decision. Martinez elected to surrender the IBF to make this rematch instead of a mandatory defense. Nine fights on this show per BoxRec, so expect a typical 6-7 am start for the main event if you’re in the Eastern time zone. This one has a US$4.99 streaming option through an Asian events platform called ABEMA, which seems to allow for viewing in the US and UK. I’ve never used them before, but they do have a history of Japanese wrestling events and a very legit-seeming web platform. Let’s be honest – It’s probably wouldn’t be the most questionable thing you’ve tried to watch on the internet, should you take the plunge early Tuesday morning.
