Devin Haney: ‘Bout time I come back’

Boxing Scene

Devin Haney has indicated that he is ready to return five months on from fighting Ryan Garcia.

Haney, 31-0 (15 KOs), had his undefeated record reinstated after Garcia tested positive, twice, for performance-enhancing drugs around the time of their contest in New York in April. On the night, Haney was dropped three times and Garcia was awarded a decision win, which subsequently was ruled a no contest by the New York State Athletic Commission.

Garcia was banned for 12 months, and Haney – a well-documented promotional free agent – spoke of taking a break. When purse bids for a fight with Sandor Martin amounted to little, he again spoke of extending his hiatus.

However, the Las Vegas-based fighter has said that he could be good to go.

“The game ain’t been the same… bout time I come back,” he wrote to more than 350,000 followers on X.

Then, Haney added, “I gave y’all three months.”

New boxing powerbroker Turki Alalshikh then chimed in: “Deliver the job champ” before adding “Waiting for you, in Riyadh.”

Haney responded with: “I would say the comeback… but I never left… see you soon brother.”
