Showtime’s final boxing event on Dec. 16 has its full card set, and will be a four-bout sendoff from The Armory in Minneapolis.
In the headline fight, local favorite David Morrell Jr (9-0, 8 KO) will defend his interim WBA super middleweight title against Sena Agbeko (28-2, 22 KO) in a 12-round fight.
The undercard now has three fights official, including a world title fight and two rematches, one of which is 11 years in the making.
- Chris Colbert (17-1, 6 KO) and Jose Valenzuela (12-2, 8 KO) will square off in a 12-round lightweight rematch of their controversial March fight, which Colbert won by narrow decision over 10 rounds, 95-94 on every card. Valenzuela is working off of two straight losses, while many believe Colbert should be.
- The famously reliable Julio Cesar Martinez (20-2, 15 KO) will defend his WBC flyweight title against Angelino Cordova (18-0-1, 12 KO). This will be Martinez’s first fight with Premier Boxing Champions after making his name with Matchroom Boxing.
- Robert Guerrero (37-6-1, 20 KO) and Andre Berto (32-5, 24 KO) will square off in a 10-round welterweight rematch of their 2012 fight. 2012! That fight was a brutally ugly war, just viciously physical, full of roughhouse stuff and good action. Both are 40 years old now and, as far as being contenders, totally cooked. Guerrero hasn’t fought since 2021, and hasn’t been in against anyone you’d consider a contender at all since 2017. Berto hasn’t fought since 2018.
PBC announced earlier this week that their shows will be carried on Prime Video starting in 2024.
