Jaron Ennis, Jesse Rodriguez, opponents all make weight

The “Two Kings,” as they’re being called, avoided being dethroned by the scales on Friday, and so Saturday’s show at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia featuring Jaron “Boots” Ennis and Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez in separate title fights will go on.

Hometown headliner and welterweight titleholder Ennis, 32-0 (29 KOs), of Philadelphia, came in a full pound under the division limit of 147lbs, while challenger Karen Chukhadzhian weighed 146.6lbs.

Pound-for-pound phenom and junior bantamweight belt holder Rodriguez, 20-0 (13 KOs), checked in at 114.8lbs, while challenger Pedro Guevara weighed 114.4lbs – both under the 115lbs junior bantam limit.
