Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano make weight for their Madison Square Garden super-fight

KATIE TAYLOR and Amanda Serrano have weighed in for Saturday’s lightweight championship at Madison Square Garden.

Both made weight on Friday afternoon. In front of a lively crowd the challenger Amanda Serrano scaled 133.6lbs.

Defending champion Taylor looked more imposing when the two went head to head, even though Serrano is the power puncher of the pair. She weighed 134.6lbs.

“There’s definitely something different about this fight, being involved in the biggest fight in female boxing history. It’s great to see so many fans here,” Taylor said afterwards. “Thank you so much for all of you Irish travelling over, I’m so grateful.

“I feel great. I’m ready to step in there, ready to head those words: ‘And still world champion. Still world champion.’”
