London presser for Eubank vs Benn to continue, face off canceled

Fighting

Following yesterday’s ruckus at the opening press conference for Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn there were real questions as to whether the promoters could go ahead with Thursday’s planned presser, given that they probably can’t trust the fighters to keep their emotions under control until the actual April 26 fight date.

Sky Sports now reports that tomorrow’s second press conference will in fact go ahead with additional security (and with Turki Alalshikh supposedly due to make some big announcement) but they will cancel the traditional face off between the fighters in order to keep them a safe distance apart from one another. Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn himself believes Eubank and Benn should be kept apart and nowhere near one another as a whole.

Eubank and Benn will formally get to settle their ongoing beef inside the ring this spring, if the two can manage from having the fight scuttled before then.
