Murtazaliev vs Tszyu official for Oct. 19 on Prime Video

Fighting

As expected, Tim Tszyu will challenge Bakhram Murtazaliev for the vacant IBF super welterweight title on October 19th, with organizers announcing today that the fight will air on non-PPV Prime Video from Orlando, Florida.

Tszyu (24-1, 17 KO) reportedly has a date with Erickson Lubin early next year, but this is far from a gimme. Murtazaliev (22-0, 16 KO) can punch and he’s as tough as they come. Odds are we’re in for a violent, high-level battle.

“At this level, you have to take everyone out and Bakhram is the next guy standing in my way,” said Tszyu. “The world knows me, and they know what I’m about. I’m thankful to my team for putting me in this position to prove why I’m still the man at 154 pounds.

“Bakhram has what I want, and I plan on taking it from him in spectacular fashion. It’s time to become a two-time world champion.”

“I’m extremely happy and excited to defend my world title on Prime Video against a strong opponent like Tim Tszyu,” said Murtazaliev. “I just want Tim to be in the best shape possible and not get any injuries so we can give this fight to the fans.”

Though the press release neglected to mention any undercard bouts, Fox Sports AU reports that undefeated middleweight prospect Mateo Tapia (17-0, 10 KO) will meet Endry Saavedra (16-1, 13 KO), who introduced himself to the Aussie public in March by scoring a violent comeback finish of Isaac Hardman. Solid tussle.
