Oscar De La Hoya Believes Yokasta Valle Beats Seniesa Estrada Easily

Boxing Scene

Seniesa Estrada has been asking for the big time fights. The 31-year-old, however, fights in a division where she isn’t afforded those opportunities. Be that as it may, the current WBA and WBC minimumweight champion does have a fellow titlist that could give her all she could handle if they squared off.

Yokasta Valle holds the other half of the undisputed puzzle at minimumweight. Her career, since losing back-to-back decisions at the hands of Naoko Fujioka and Tina Rupprecht – Valle has reeled off 15 victories.

Oscar De La Hoya, Valle’s promoter, is hoping to eventually place both fighters in the ring for all of the marbles. If the Hall of Fame fighter finds a way to navigate past the promotional issues that are likely to plague those negotiations, most may view their unification clash as a 50/50 one. To De La Hoya, nevertheless, he believes it would be one way traffic in favor of Valle.

“She’ll beat her easy,” said De La Hoya to ESNEWS during a recent interview.

With two world titles draped over her shoulders, Estrada (25-0, 9 KOs) has essentially cruised against her competition. Even in her most recent outing against Leonela Paola Yudica – Estrada found a way to avoid countless shots that were headed in her direction to pick up the win.

By and large, both unified champs are considered the best in their division. De La Hoya, to no surprise, wants to place his fighter in a position where she can prove that she’s the head honcho.

Although he admitted that a matchup with Estrada would essentially be a cakewalk for his girl, De La Hoya backtracked soon after before acknowledging that Valle (28-2, 9 KOs) would have her hands full all night long.

“Nothings easy but you know who my favorite is.”
