Claressa Shields returns to the ring tonight as she aims to win a pair of world titles in divions that don’t really exist, facing Vanessa Joanisse in a main event from Detroit.
Shields (14-0, 2 KO) will be aiming to capture the WBC heavyweight and IBF light heavyweight titles against Joanisse (7-1, 2 KO), who will be taking an enormous step up in competition. Shields is, obviously, an enormous favorite in the fight, given that she’s dominated her entire Olympic and pro careers and Joanisse appears to bring nothing special to the table at all.
DAZN will have the live stream starting at 9 pm ET. Michel Rivera will face Hugo Roldan in the featured undercard bout, Shohjahon Ergashev is in action, and there will be two “swing” fights available in case of early finishes in those fights.
