Spence: I Have Every Tool To Beat Crawford, It’s The Only Fight I Wanted

Boxing Scene

Errol Spence Jr. will need to throw everything and the kitchen sink at Terence Crawford in order to beat the Nebraska native when they clash July 29.

The Texan feels confident that he has every piece of hardware to pick apart his touted counterpart.

“I have all of the tools to beat him,” Spence said during the first episode of “All Access” on Showtime. “Terence Crawford is the only fight that I wanted. I couldn’t think of a better scenario. He’s a great fighter. I’m a great fighter. This fight is happening now. It’s happening at a great time. Terence is my dancing partner. I feel that we are going to make each other great.

“I feel that Terence Crawford is a guy that is going to go for the kill, especially if he smells blood … Terence Crawford is a mean fighter. He’s a guy that if he gets you hurt he’s going to go for the knockout.”

Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) and Crawford (39-0, 30 KOs) will be fighting for welterweight division supremacy.

Nothing will come easy for either fighter, and the future undisputed champion will have to prove immense fortitude to finish on top.

Spence has already shown he has a knack to overcome adversity out of the ring, having survived a near fatal car accident in 2019, retina surgery in 2021, and a car accident late last year that left his leg injured.

“Everything that I have been through, especially in the last few years, they can make a movie out of my career, the different trials and tribulations,” said Spence.

The Spence vs. Crawford pay per view will be presented by Showtime for $84.99 in the United States. The four-fight card from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will begin at 8 p.m. ET.
