Tank Davis vs Lamont Roach officially moved to March 1

Fighting

As had been expected, Gervonta “Tank” Davis has a new date for his fight Lamont Roach, and a new location for the event.

Originally scheduled for Dec. 14 in Houston, Davis will now defend his lightweight title against Roach on Mar. 1 in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center on Prime Video pay-per-view, headlining an increasingly rare Premier Boxing Champions event.

Davis vs Roach will be PBC’s second pay-per-view within a month’s time, following David Benavidez vs David Morrell on Feb. 1.

Davis (30-0, 28 KO) fought just once this year, beating Frank Martin on June 15, after a pair of wins in 2023 over Hector Luis Garcia and Ryan Garcia.

Roach (25-1-1, 10 KO) holds the WBA super featherweight title, and exercises his right to challenge for the WBA belt in the next division up. The 29-year-old veteran has won six in a row. This year, his only fight will be a June 28 mismatch victory over challenger Feargal McCrory.
