Tyson Fury shows off ready physique ahead of Usyk fight

Fighting

Tyson Fury may never be the lean, cut, bodybuilder type, but the WBC heavyweight titleholder is looking in good shape ahead of his May 18 undisputed championship showdown with Oleksandr Usyk.

The two are set to headline a pay-per-view — available through both DAZN and ESPN+ — from Riyadh, rescheduled from a previous date, which fell through when Fury suffered a cut in training camp.

Some have questioned the conditioning of Fury (34-0-1, 24 KO), especially after he showed up in quarter-serious shape and struggled through 10 rounds with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou last October.

But the 35-year-old “Gypsy King” is clearly taking this challenge much more seriously, as he should and as you might expect:

Again, Fury will never have the shape or physical form of an Anthony Joshua, but compare this to his most recent fights and you see a man coming into action to be the best he can be this time around.

Usyk (21-0, 14 KO), who holds the WBA, IBF, and WBO titles, is always in top condition, but a significantly smaller man than Fury, too, which is a big part of the matchup’s appeal, to see if his clever skills can out-do those of the taller, heavier Fury.
