Zepeda vs Farmer rematch official for Mar. 29 in Cancun

Fighting

As revealed last month, lightweight contender William Zepeda will rematch Tevin Farmer for the interim WBC title on March 29th in Cancun, Mexico.

Zepeda (32-0, 27 KO), who’s been Zeno’s Paradox-ing his way towards a title shot against Shakur Stevenson for ages, hit the deck and suffered a hand injury against Farmer (33-7-1. 8 KO) last November en route to a narrow split-decision victory. He’ll have 12 rounds to work with this time around, which should play to the benefit of his high-attrition style, but Farmer’s clearly got something left in the tank.

Salvador Rodriguez reports that unified minimumweight champion Oscar Collazo (11-0. 8 KO) will defend his title against unheralded Edwin Cano (13-2-1. 4 KO) in the co-feature. Collazo was last seen ending boxing’s longest title reign with a beatdown of Knockout CP Freshmart.

Previous reporting indicated that Yokasta Valle would make an appearance, but neither Golden Boy’s social media nor BoxRec list her.
