Zhilei Zhang landed a right hook right at the end of the third round that put Joyce down and out. Prior to landing the fight-ending punch, Zhang landed 57% of his power punches (13/23) in the third round, after landing 52% of his power punches (14/27) in the second round.
Joyce threw almost as many power punches as Zhang, but only connected at a 12% (6/52) rate.
Wembley Arena, London – In a heavyweight rematch, Zhilei Zhang (26-1-1, 21 KOs) proved the first fight was no fluke with a brutal knockout of Joe Joyce (15-2, 14 KOs) in the third round.
Back in April, Zhang stunned the division when he stopped Joyce in six rounds – after Joyce’s right eye was swollen shut and the ringside doctor stopped the contest. Joyce would later exercise an immediate rematch clause.
